Praying for South Sudan

Dear Friends and Family,

I want to wish all of you a Happy New Year – the greatest you’ve ever had. Since the Lord Jesus, through His Word,  promises to add to us “line upon line” and take us from “faith to faith” and from “glory to glory,” then I believe this will be a year of escalating favor for ALL of us!!

This year we are climbing higher, going deeper and spreading broader. (Psalm 18:33, Isa. 37:31, Psalm 42:7, Isaiah 54: 2,3, and 1 Chronicles 4:10 )

It is also a season of great travail upon the earth. But Jesus said these things would come. (Romans 8:22  and Matthew 24:6-13)

We pray persistently, however, that the heart of God be fulfilled, even as we watch the pain around us. “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is long-suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that ALL should come to repentance.” – 2 Peter 3:9

Our precious brothers and sisters in South Sudan are enduring much turmoil and death on every side. When we asked them on the ground in South Sudan if they, too, were going to flee and evacuate, their response was, “No.” Even though their soldiers are sent to northern states to fight and trucks return daily full of the dead bodies for burial, still their answer is, “No.”

“Is that the attitude Paul and Silas had in Acts 16?” these dear brothers and sisters say. “Just waiting to ‘get out’ and ‘be freed?’ No, they worshiped amidst their suffering, and as they praised God facing all the unknowns before them, the Lord Himself shook the prison and freed them. But even after their freedom, they didn’t run. They instead led prisoners to Jesus, as well as the jailer and his family.”

May this attitude also be in us. With faith as firm as a rock, these men stand in peace remaining in Juba. They are there with their families, covered with the cloud of angelic protection that kept them through the past years of war as their nation fought for freedom.

Refugees are flooding into Gulu, and Northern Uganda and Kenya during this season of fear, fighting, bloodshed, and instability.  As a team on the ground in Gulu, we are reaching out to these precious Sudanese, loving, and serving them any way can. Our whole staff is going into two weeks of prayer and fasting with them at the House of Prayer, beginning Monday, January 13th. Pray with us for these things:

1)  The complete fulfillment of God’s vision in Gulu as a place of His manifested glory and transformation.
2)  The great harvest of souls still to be reached and that those who are coming to Jesus will be grounded deeply through discipleship.
3)  For the turmoil and bloodshed in South Sudan to cease. That Jesus Himself will rise as the Prince of Peace over that nation with healing in His wings, and that II Chronicles 7:14 would be a reality for the body of Christ in our land.
4)  For God’s wisdom, grace, and provision on every path HE ordains for us to walk in this coming year as Favor of God.

CRUSADE – We are partnering with our brothers around Juba, South Sudan as they prepare for a large crusade there in February.

Do you want to be a part of the harvest in this nation?…To bring life where there is death, and peace where there is war. It’s time they heard “Good News” in the midst of tragedy and “bad news.”

We are also preparing for a Prayer gathering within that nation.  Please stand with us to reach as many souls as possible and see God’s light shine forth replacing the darkness.

When nations are raging, what are we doing? It’s not time to “get comfortable,” “turn the other way” or close down the news of the tragedy and pain of others.

Can you pray with us over these verses?
When the government of a nation is upon the shoulders of Jesus, there will be NO end to the increase!

Isa 9:6, 7 “For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder; and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end…”

Psalm 79:11 “Let the sighing of the prisoner come before you; according to the greatness of your power preserve those that are appointed to die;”

Micah 4:3, 4 “And He shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks: Nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. But they shall sit every man under his vine and under fig tree; and none shall make them afraid…”

Malachi 3:2 “But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in His wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.”

Revelation 11:15b “…The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of His Christ; and He shall reign for ever and ever.”

Psalm 2:8 “Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen (nations) for thine inheritance; and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.”

2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land”

Luke 10:2 “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He would send forth laborers into His harvest.”

All through the ages, prayer changes people and situations redeeming, restoring, and shaping history.
It is talking to God about man and talking to man about God

Pray with us, these two weeks, as we go before the Lord for the things mentioned above. The power of agreement is unstoppable!

Be a part of the harvest, as you sow seeds in faith for the coming crusade!
