Values

Prayer

Prayer is the foundation of everything we do at Favor of God. In the Mission House, our ministry's hub, we begin every morning with prayer and worship seeking God's heart and direction before starting any new task or outreach. Whenever we feel stuck, we pray. Whenever we rejoice, we pray. And then all throughout our ministry assignments, we pray. God has also given us the vision to see the church in northern Uganda become a "house of prayer for all nations." Already we see prayer uniting churches of various denominations throughout northern Uganda in our community House of Prayer and beyond as families and communities learn about the importance and power of the focus of prayer.

Indigenous leadership

Favor of God is a Ugandan-run ministry. We greatly welcome guests from other countries to share in the amazing work God is accomplishing. And we also welcome partnership through prayer, training, working along-side, and financial help. But, our focus is to be empowered by God and the church world-wide to reach our own people and see our country and continent transformed.

Church Unity and Action

The Ugandan staff of Favor of God is comprised of mostly bi-vocational pastors of many different denominations who also shepherd churches in the community. We seek to do all ministry through the church and none for the name of Favor of God. God wants the church united, and when it moves forward together, there is no more powerful force on earth.

Self-sustainability

In the area of financial health, Favor of God has various business projects that will gradually help us become more self-sustainable while also building into our local economy. At the same time, as we build this business to bless Favor of God we are learning and becoming equipped to teach our community the same skills for their own self-sustainability. Currently we have layer chickens, milk cows, rental properties, land and plans for a fish farm, and a primary school where it is customary to charge school fees.

Integrity

Favor of God builds its entire organizational structure around the Four Foundational Pillars and what we call the "6 R's." The Four Foundational Pillars are administrative, legal, spiritual, and financial. We strive to keep all four pillars strong and equally important or our organization's "building" will topple. The "6 R's" explain our partnering and administrative procedures: relationship, recognize, receipts, records, reports, and results.

Relationship - All partnering and ministry is built with this value in mind.
Recognize - We identify the area that donated money is designated for and set it aside for that specific purpose. If donations are undesignated, we seek God's guidance with how to distribute the funds to our various departments.
Receipts and Records - For every purchase or service paid for, a receipt is filed and incorporated into detailed bookkeeping.
Reports - Through newsletters and personal thank you notes, ministry partners receive updates on how their donations were used and multiplied.
Results - The use and results of funds and donations are constantly evaluated and prayed over to ensure our integrity and remain diligent with our great responsibility.
