Have We Missed the Mission in the Great Commission?

Have we missed the ‘mission’ in the Great Commission?

Maybe the word commission really comes from –‘come with a mission?’

Jesus came with a mission, and as He commissioned the church to GO, with a mission- it carried the weight of instruction, direction, purpose, vision,… the very essence of our existence as followers of Jesus, the costliness of Calvary, the value of eternity, the motive of the whole Gospel, the radiance of the Church, and the heartbeat of the Father’s undying love. Is that the same impression we have been branded with? Or have we even yet been branded?

Have we been in the throne room long enough to have our blurred vision refocused upon such pure holiness as Isaiah did… and then have piercing brokenness wrench our hearts as we see our own filth, stench, apathy – Lukewarmness toward the God known as Devouring Fire!…

To have blazing fire touch our lips, sear the sin out of our lives, and open up the tunnels of deafness within our ears that have shut out the voices from eternity, the cries from heaven’s cloud of witnesses blended together with the Sacrificed Lamb, pleading…

“Who will go?”…Who will finish the race? …Run the course… become a slave to all men to “win the more?” …

(I Cor. 9:19)…pick up the baton where we left off and “win for the Lamb the reward of His suffering?”…

If you haven’t been in the throne room long enough, then by all means, go back in…For you will never come out the same…

You cannot be in love with Jesus, without loving the very passion of His heart… mankind… every precious soul…Still “treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places.” (Isa. 45:3)

Still the Bride he yearns to redeem, just not yet discovered… calling them My people…My Bride… who were not my people…And my beloved, who was not beloved… (Rom.9:25)

Is that the beating of your heart as well?

Is it true of you that in all you do, you are moved with compassion? Or have you not “come… to have His passion yet?”

Are you weeping over the multitudes because you are “touched with the feeling of their infirmities?” or has your heart become calloused enough with ease, pleasure, and comfort that you become one of the throng of which the Most High said,  “Keep on hearing but do not understand. Keep on seeing, but do not perceive.”

“Make the heart of this people dull, and their ears heavy, and shut their eyes, lest they see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and return and be healed.” (Isa.6:10)

Oh God, turn us to be healed! To see and feel again what is ever before Your heart… beating as your vision…

Maybe you have run from seeing and hearing and feeling what the Father really sees and hears and feels…

for it may cause us pain, it may cause uneasiness, it may call for sacrifice, abandonment, discomfort, and the unknown…

Isn’t this what Commission really is?

Go where? Into ALL the world.

Do What? Make disciples…

Of Whom? …ALL nations and ALL people…

Teach, preach, do miracles…Take life to the lifeless, take transformation, stay long enough to make a difference and see people transferred from a kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light.

That takes commitment… tagged with the price of sacrifice… offering to the Savior that which costs us something… maybe everything… (II Sam. 24:24)

Some will Go and some will Give… and all will rejoice together… (John 4:36)…sharing the rewards in the joy of the harvest…

It takes both the sowing and the reaping to see His Kingdom established….Those going to war and those staying with the goods…. One planting and another reaping, but GOD giving the increase….. What is YOUR part?
