Raising up a Generation

Dear Friends,

“Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.” I Timothy 4:12

Children and Youth – Rescued, Redeemed, Restored!
Every day we are discovering destinies!
Every day we are unwrapping hidden treasures!
Every day we are raising leaders!

As we drew our precious children together for a retreat during their holiday season, we thoroughly enjoyed hearing the stories and testimonies of God’s faithful lessons in each of their lives. This day was a time of empowerment and of sharing and celebrating the love amongst us all as a family. There was teaching, fun, sharing, Bible quizzes, and a new Bible for each child.

Our retreat day together had the theme “How Can a Young Man Keep His Way Pure?”
As our children quoted one memory verse after another, I was reminded again of the Lord’s challenge to us in Psalms. “How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to His Word.”

Is His Word really hidden within our hearts?

Is it the bread that feed us, the fire in our bones that consumes us, the water that washes us, the truth that frees us, the new mind that transforms us, the mirror that reflects us, the rod that delivers us, the staff that comforts us, the power that heals us, the rock that stabilizes us, the light for the path ahead of us, the high tower that protects us, the nourishment that strengthens us, the reflection of His character in us, the voice that quickens us, the letters of love that romance us, the calling and the course that guides us, and the message of salvation that sends us?

Is this the preciousness of His Word to us? He IS the Word made flesh. In the measure we love His written and spoken Word, we love Him. People may come and go in your life, but God’s Word abides forever. People may change, but His Word never changes.

As we feed our children the bread of heaven, as well as bread from the table, daily, we are feeding them God. We are seeing life-changing character developed deep within their hearts, transforming their minds, healing their hearts and bodies, and taking them solidly into their destiny and calling.

How many meals a day do we eat? And how much spiritual food do we fill our souls with? Why would we have one food, without the other?

And yet it is the training and mentoring in and application of His Word that transforms us. Without that, without the “doing” and application of what we read and what He speaks, we live in self-deception. (James 1:22)

We have a mandate with our children, as you do with yours. We are called to raise them in the fear of the Lord and teach them His ways.

May we obey this high calling.

Our children strive for academic excellence, but our highest goal is spiritual excellence.
They have daily opportunities for both ministering and enjoying the journey as they live life to the fullest!
