A Damascus Road Experience

Wow! I have never in my life seen such an “extreme transformation” from one end of darkness into the power of light so radically and instantly!! A Damascus Road Experience As I wrote in yesterday’s testimony of  Ishmael’s conversion, he spent the night at the House of Prayer. Cosmas stayed with him, and they read the word together into the evening. Often when someone comes out of the occult, there is a lot of continual prayer and deliverance and pouring in of the Word that must occur over the next 24 hours. But during the previous day when Ishmael repented, wept,...

A Miracle Walked In…

We’ve been in another week of prayer this week – the whole week with the whole staff! This is our second day. The worship is incredible – deep and heavenly. And the prayer – dynamite! we know that we know God is doing kingdom business. In the afternoon, a 45-year-old South Sudanese Muslim man named Ishmael walked in the doors of the House of Prayer. He came in looking for Jesus. He walked down to the front, got on his knees, and in the midst of our worship – as we explained the message of salvation to him – he prayed to receive Jesus.  He began sobbing and...

Entering the Harvest Fields

Jesus called us, commanded us, and commissioned us to “Make disciples of ALL nations.” He talked in Acts 1:8 about “empowering” us to do so in our own “Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the ends of the earth.” If we’re not reproducing others into the Kingdom of God, corporately and individually, we have become spiritually stagnant and barren. This is why field evangelism is the beginning of all we do and the first step or our Rural Education and Empowerment Program (REEP)… We begin all our outreaches with earnest intercession for hearts to be made...

Opening the Doors of Destiny: A Report from Carole on the South Sudan National Prayer Gathering

Dearest Friends, I feel like we were in a delivery room – a birthing room – travailing, rending our hearts, and repenting for Cain’s spilling of Abel’s blood, blood that has poured down like a river. Walking the land- breaking covenants with the powers of darkness – weary with crying out.  Feeling the pain of murdered children that are no more. Weeping for the thousands slaughtered mercilessly and unnecessarily to satisfy the greed, revenge, and rage of man – mowed down with guns, drowned in the Nile River trying to escape, captured and told “Kill all you can...

How Do We Answer the Heart Cry of a Nation?

A baptism of deep desperation hit our gut in 2004 during the national prayer gathering in the Gulu stadium. We rent our hearts for a broken nation (Joel 2:13), weeping like Hannah over the barrenness in the land (I Sam. 1:10-11) and crying out as Rachel who could not be comforted for her children who were no more. (Jer. 31:15) And, as we wept… God began healing… Healing of the land means “healing the destiny of those who are of the land…” Their hearts, bodies, families, spirits, emotions, businesses, churches, land, and even their calling… We believed God would heal...
