Training generations of indigenous leaders, to help us together, reach the lost at any cost
A baptism of deep desperation hit our gut in 2004 during the national prayer gathering in the Gulu stadium. We rent our hearts for a broken nation (Joel 2:13), weeping like Hannah over the barrenness in the land (I Sam. 1:10-11) and crying out as Rachel who could not be...Read More
The 20-year war for the Lord’s Resistance Army targeted the children especially. Our enemy knows that to wipe out a civilization, he need only destroy its youth. These children faced horror upon horror. Forced to kill or be killed. Watching friends and parents murdered before...Read More
The Kingdom of God is like a vehicle. In one hour you can walk about 5 miles, but in vehicle you can travel 65 miles in that same hour. In the same way when we try to accomplish Kingdom work in our own strength we see few results and end up tired. But when we allow the...Read More
What would it be like to be a child in Africa? Suzana was birthed to work from sun up to sun down. From the time she was 5 years old, she would carry water, wash clothes, and then join her brothers to hoe the family garden until the sun got too hot. During the heat of the...Read More
Fred Latim was already a pastor when he joined Favor of God Ministries, and became very involved in the ministry, especially in the field of driving. He had completed his driving course in 2000, and began driving his senior pastor in Kampala. Later he returned to Gulu to...Read More
We drove two days to reach the little town, through the mud, the jungle, and the ribbon-marked trees where “untapped” land mines still lay hidden beneath the surface of the ground. Charcoaled skeletons of government vehicles were scattered periodically through the...Read More
Favor of God arose in 2005 in response to the most horrific war in African history. Through serving and training indigenous leaders to fulfill their visions, we see transformed hearts transform nations.
Favor of God Ministries is a Ugandan organization that arose in 2005 in response to the most horrific war in African history. As we work in Gulu, Uganda, we strive to see revival in all areas of life – spiritual, physical, social, emotional, economic, academic, and moral. Our goal is to continue to reach out throughout northern Uganda and in the neighboring countries of southern Sudan and D.R. Congo where the LRA are again very active and causing unimaginable devastation.
To see the church united and commissioned to bring sustainable and transformational revival to all areas of life – spiritual, physical, social, emotional, economic, academic, and moral. Revival isn’t finished if it’s not complete.
When God told Favor of God to “Turn the light on” to cause the darkness to flee, we believe he called us into the shallowest and deepest corners of life. That is why we feel free to minister to the many types of needs around us in church, government, community, medical, education, business and trade, and the family.
The war in northern Uganda is Africa’s longest running war. In 1987, the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) was formed by Joseph Kony, who claims that his power and authority comes from spirits with whom he communicates… Following the spiritual warfare against Kony’s empowering spirits, international attention became increasingly focused on the situation in northern Uganda. In 2003 the United Nation’s top humanitarian official was quoted as saying, “I cannot find any other part of the world that is having an emergency on the scale of Uganda, which is getting so little international attention…”
